NSW: Leckie stablised after grave turn for the worse

By Paul Carter

SYDNEY, April 18 AAP - Network Seven's boss David Leckie is in a serious but stable
condition in a Sydney hospital today after taking a grave turn for the worse yesterday,
a hospital spokesman says.

St Vincent's Private Hospital spokesman David Faktor said Mr Leckie was today in the
hospital's intensive care unit where he is being ventilated and is expected to remain
in an induced coma for the weekend at least.

"He took a grave turn for the worse yesterday and he was in a critical condition but
we have seen some improvements today and he has been stabilised," Mr Faktor told AAP.

Mr Leckie's wife Skye and brother have been at the hospital visiting the Seven chief executive.

He was brought into the hospital last weekend after contracting an infection following
an operation on his left index finger.

He almost severed the finger in an accident with a garage roller door at his Sydney
home a couple of months ago.

He recently had a second graft on the finger which triggered a serious infection.
