Fed: Latham not worried about personal attacks
Federal Opposition Leader MARK LATHAM is unfazed about Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD giving
his government the green light to continue personal attacks on him.
Mr HOWARD says he is opposed to any attacks on Mr LATHAM'S private life, but adds there
is nothing wrong with hitting the new opposition leader about his public comments.
Health Minister TONY ABBOTT has used parliamentary privilege to attack Mr LATHAM over
his failed first marriage.
Treasurer PETER COSTELLO has targeted Mr LATHAM'S altercation with a Sydney taxi driver.
But Mr LATHAM brushes off suggestions he may be in for a rough time as Labor's new
leader, saying Mr ABBOTT and Mr COSTELLO should sharpen up their act and come up with
something original.
And, he says he is on about good policy for Australian people in the future.
